A Greek word meaning "woman's servant". A doula is a woman who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Research shows that doulas help women have faster, safer, and more natural births.


Birth Doula Care

Birth is not just another day in a woman's life. It is a significant and life changing event. Every woman deserves to feel like she is an active and informed participant in her child's birth, and have the support she needs. Natural or medicated, at home or in the hospital, I will support you in any type of birth you choose.
  • 2 prenatal visits to design individualized comfort measures for you, discuss your birth preference and needs, and prepare you and your partner for labor and birth.
  • On-call 24 hours for 2 weeks before your due date and 2 weeks after.
  • Continuous labor care-- starting from when you feel you need me and ending when breastfeeding has been established and you and the baby are comfortably tucked into bed.
  • 1 postpartum visit
  • Personalized birth story
  • Photography or video (upon request)
  • Available by phone anytime during your pregnancy and postpartum to answer questions or work through fears
  • Breastfeeding support for however long you need it.
Fee: $325 to be paid as follows
$175 retainer fee-- due at the first prenatal visit
$150 paid at the birth of the baby

Note: Some insurance companies will pay for doula services. You can also use health savings insurance accounts towards doula support. If cost is a concern for you I am willing to work out payment plans or alternative methods of payment. I believe every woman needs a doula and will do all I can to help you get the support you need.
